A Passion for Putting Patients First

Microscopy

While most lab tests are conducted on bodily fluids such as blood, urine, saliva, serum, or cerebrospinal fluid, some tests require other substances. These fall under the broad category of microscopy and may include urine, stool, and semen samples.

Microscopy plays an important role in detecting conditions related to the reproductive and gastrointestinal systems as well as kidney and bladder function. Urine samples may be analyzed to detect pregnancy, kidney health, and other health conditions.

Stool samples may be used to look for signs of gastrointestinal disease or infection as well as nutritional deficiencies and diseases affecting the liver and bile production. Semen analysis, meanwhile, can offer valuable insights into fertility testing and reproductive health.
