A Passion for Putting Patients First

Toxicology

Toxicology testing can indicate the presence of toxic substances — often legal or illegal drugs — in body fluids. These tests are conducted by examining a patient’s saliva, urine, or blood.

These tests are exhaustive, testing as many as 30 substances at a time. They can detect the presence of illegal drugs regardless of the method of consumption (including smoking, vaping, injection, inhalation, or eating) and high levels of legal drugs (such as prescription opioids).

Tox screens will also detect other more commonly-used substances such as aspirin and even vitamin supplements.

With expert testing and state-of-the-art testing equipment, a tox screen can be completed in 72 hours. Medical professionals and patients can then access a full list of all the substances detected in bodily fluids.
